Before Michele, finding the perfect timepiece was difficult for women of all walks of life. It felt as though we were caught forever between the boring and drab and the unnecessarily upscale - a tough place to be when shopping for one’s day-to-day look.
Striking a delicate balance between haute couture and honest, modest simplicity, Michele watches are sure to delight in a variety of contexts.
A Meteoric Rise to Prominence
Michele finds its roots in 1940s Belgium. Maurice Barouh, a watchmaker at the time, committed himself to producing watches of the highest quality, using only the best raw material available to him. His contagious passion lit a fire in his son’s heart, as well, compelling him to continue his father’s work in Latin America, even after his father’s eventual passing. Where Jack exceeded his father was in his talent for trend-spotting and seeing what people were interested in buying and wearing. In 1995, Jack and his wife Rita founded Michele, naming the new company after their beloved daughter. They relocated to Miami, Florida, and the rest is history.
Emerging from a chrysalis of hard work and revolutionary design, Michele was acquired by the Fossil Group in 2004, giving them the wings they needed to fully actualize their vision as a brand. Michele herself still remains earnestly at the helm of the ship, directing the company’s evolution and ensuring that her father’s and grandfather’s original vision still rings true in every timepiece the company produces.
Michele Watches We Cannot Stop Talking About
One of Michele’s most famous lines of women’s timepieces, the Deco series and its subsidiaries tend to charm right off of the shelf. While the original Deco collection will always be iconic in our hearts for their timelessly geometric faces and extraordinarily classy design schemes, there is plenty to be had in the accompanying brands, as well. We love the rose gold detail work characteristic of the Deco Madison series, as well as the old-school appeal of the Deco Sport timepieces.
For female timepieces with a distinctly masculine edge, the Sidney collection is more than capable of satisfying. The watches in the Serein collection take the same sentiment in a slightly more retro direction - bold roman numerals jump off of the bright, audacious faces of the timepieces to be found here. They will always leave you wanting more.
